All dressed up, nowhere to go.

Dilemmas Dilemmas. As strange as this may sound to some I am nocturnal most nights and seem to go on a massive dress up, planning and picking outfits, yes at 2 o'clock in the morning. Yet I plan all these outfits to wear but quite frankly have no where to go?! Sad aye. Living in Brighton and not really going out at the moment means where do I wear my heels? I cant casually wear them in the daytime, don't get me wrong I would love to but unfortunately I'm not a great heel walker and I would rather save myself the embarrassment. However tomorrow I'm off to PARIS, which means I can wear my heels and all my new purchases, which of course I especially bought for the trip. OMG excited is an understatement, I surprised my best friend with this trip for her 21st birthday present and the itinerary is already planned, we have so much to do and see.

But due to my lack of social life and fun activities lately which is escalating into not blog posting, I have decided to post about something I am working on at the moment. Styling, Photography and Art Direction are the three areas I am massively interested in. I'm a very visual person, I love layouts, composition and the way something has a theme around it! I'm constantly self teaching and learning about all three, usually up at 2o'clock in the morning mastering photoshop. I wish my mind wasn't so creative at this time, because I know I'm going to fall into a deep dark pattern. So far I'm creating some layouts from a quick spontaneous shoot that happened with my fellow Pisces dreamer (star sign thing) Laura Beirne. A textile student with a love for hidden gems. The concept behind the garments that she makes is to take something we may not have wanted anymore or use and recycle it again. Her crazy personality and courageous style reflects and creeps into her own pieces as she mixes and clashes prints and colours. 

'Storytellers' is a selection of images I have designed to reflect upon the raw and recycled aspect of Beirnes garments.

So I know I'm weirdly fussy but after buying these boots it made me realise how ridiculously fussy I am. When I got them home and tried them on I started questioning myself asking 'are they making my foot look really long, are they to big round the front, does the size of my foot look massive'? Some of the things I concentrate on and think about. Really?! 

Eventually I came to the conclusion that I was being an idiot. They are just chunky, which is the part I love and the reason I wanted them. Either way the boots and me have now developed and formed a loving relationship with one another, I'm wearing them with everything! I'll admit I had been struggling to find a pair because quite frankly I just do not have the money at the moment, well at any given time but right now especially not for £70-£95 boots. These were £40 from River Island, which I felt I could justify, as the quality still looks good, there comfortable and also pretty much Dioon Vagabond look alikes, so I'm happy. As for the quilted jacket, it was a freebie I grabbed from when working at ASOS, one of the perks of the job. I paired it with all black as I didn't really want to take the attention away from the jacket, its details and colours. That and also because I'm having a massive trouser dilemma with not having the right bottoms for anything :(

Also, always have been and probably always will be a massive *to do lister, and as third year goes I feel like not even enough of those are going to cut it. Yet I'll share with you a few from my fashion creative to do list for now.

*TO DO

• Buy disposable camera - some of my favourite photos are my disposables and from now on I want one with me at all times. New rule before leaving the house - 'Disposable camera?' Check.
• Make my pink fluffy scrunchies - Im a massive scrunchie fan but there are not enough that suit my needs, so I have already purchased the materials just need to start the DIYing.
• Order some zines. At uni I'm focusing on zines for my project, the more I've researched into them the more obsessed I am becoming.

NEW SHOES, NEW POST.

Inspiration for this outfit was definitely Marques'Almeida as I just wanted to wear my new shoes. Luckily I got a bargain for £24.99 from ASOS Market place. The Marques'Almeida S/S 14 collection included one of the most amazing cow print pony skin jackets that I have fallen in love with, want want want! For me these white shoes are ideal from alternating day and night outfits, as I always have a struggle with nighttime outfits and what shoes to wear. I never want to wear heels but I also like a bit of height. It was becoming a regular struggle so any excuse to solve the problem and buy new shoes.  Every time I wear this matching 90s chocker and ankle bracelet it just reminds me of when I was a kid. Sometimes I think imagine if we just kept everything from when we was younger, I would probably be wearing most of it, if it all fit. Despite the odd thing your mum should never have let you dress in.

 I am really keen on Art Direction so throughout my blog I'll be playing around with my images a lot more hopefully, as more posts come along.

Uni update: going awful, spent most of my time online shopping.

So this is the third time I have said something like this. I keep saying I'll do my blog, Ill make time for it, I promise myself. Then its simple, I just never do but now that I am writing my dissertation (yep, its that dreaded year) which will be focusing on personal style blogs, I thought when better to actually start this. Hopefully it will be continuous and my 7000 word dissertation won't get in the way. The perks of being a student.

Lately it seems that procrastinating is becoming part of my daily routine. After 6 months away from the place that is starting to make me feel like there is never enough days in the week due to the amount of work I have been given. I have come to the conclusion that after being back for third year I am going to have no life. But as any normal uni student would do, I have decided that I will leave all my work for the moment and do, well anything but. An example of the type of 'productive' procrastinating that has been happening is stationery shopping, if you have not done this, then do so. Its seems to feel like an acceptable procrastination because you feel less bad as you tell yourself its for the good of your projects.

 Isolated heroes has always been a brand that I have been highly interested in and I cannot wait for there new collection, look book and new site to launch. I keep seeing loads of fur, velvet and pastel colours, which makes me so excited, what a perfect combination. In fact some of the collection is on ASOS marketplace now and I will definitely be ordering an item soon, I just want so much pastel pink fur!
